Flora and fauna of a Yorkshire village………………..

The village of Golcar in West Yorkshire is perched on top of the Pennine Hills and gets more than its fair share of bead weather in the winter. I have lost count of the number of times I have been “snowed in” and unable to get out for several days.

However, when spring turns to summer and the hot weather (by UK standards) arrives, the little lanes and “ginnels” in the village become a myriad of colour. So a short walk today with Nikon D5200 in hand, I set out to try to capture some of the colours on display………..I think we forget at times the beauty of this planet we live on and how it continues to thrive (despite the doom mongers!).

So here are some of the images I tried to capture today, all these flowers and plants were growing wild however, the animals were being kept as pets!
