Battle of the Somme – in honour of all who fought, died and those who survived the carnage

A vigil is being maintained at the Thiepval Memorial, to mark the moment troops first went into battle on 1 July.

This is the memorial that the England football team couldn’t be bothered to visit as the journey would have been “too draining”……..they ought to hang their heads in shame!
