On the 20 and 21 August 2016 the annual Brighouse festival took place in the small West Yorkshire town perhaps best known for the famous Brighouse and Raistrick brass band.
The weather this year was very mixed, I visited on Saturday morning in some lovely sunshine, then returned on Sunday morning to a mixture of sunny spells and showers of rain.
From what I saw the festival was well attended, lots of families who all seemed to want a trip up the canal on the various canal boats.
Food was in plentiful supply, as was beer, lots of stalls selling everything from cheeses to pottery and woodcarvings. There was a display of old classic cars , the pride of place going to a stunning looking Lagonda, but well supported by a Morris 1000, a Morgan and an open top Mercedes sports car.
Below are some photographs I took during the two days to try and capture the spirit and atmosphere of the festival.
